Reasons which make us the better choice for you
|1.||Focus on Teaching: All we do is teach. We do not sell or rent instruments of music. This leaves us free to specialize in one thing - providing the highest quality of music instruction.|
|2.||University Trained Teachers: Our instructors are highly qualified and many have extensive performance experience. Most importantly, our instructors strive to relate their teaching to each individual student's learning style.|
|3.||All Ages - Beginners to Advanced: Our current students range from 5 years old to many students in their 60's and 70's. We take care to teach what you want to learn so music is rewarding for students of all ages and levels.|
|4.||Private Lessons: Private lessons ensure that the student has the undivided attention of the teacher and can progress at a level suited to them individually.|
|5.||Regular Concerts and Recitals: Recitals and concerts are held at least twice a year. These provide students with performance experience and build confidence.|
Southland Conservatory opened its doors in July of 2000 with 5 teachers and 70 students. Since its inception, Southland Conservatory has grown to house 12 studios, over 25 educators, and at peak enrollment 400 students. Currently Southland Conservatory teaches students ranging in age from 5 years old to adult students into their 70's. Priding itself as innovators of supplemental music education, Southland Conservatory cultivates close relationships with K-12 school educators to ensure our students success, and the success of those K-12 programs. Realizing the need for a stress free educational experience, Southland Conservatory meets the students at their level, and sets a path for their success. Through optional recitals, church performances, and civic functions, students can choose how to share their gifts. Southland Conservatory also prides itself in being the first, if not only, area studio that arranges for its voice students to participate a bi-annual recording project that features Southland Conservatory students. Southland Conservatory students have been awarded music scholarships to many schools of higher education including; University of Missouri, UMKC’s Conservatory of Music, Truman State, Northwest Missouri State, Belmont University, and Middle Tennessee State just to name a few. We are proud of our alumni as they become some of the areas best educators, and performers. Southland Conservatory is proud of the impact that its students and alumni have on the Kansas City area as educators and performers, and hopes to include you as one of its students.
